The Boiler Upgrade Scheme (BUS) is a UK Government initiative to encourage more people in England and Wales by providing grants to property owners to replace existing fossil fuel heating with more efficient, low carbon heating systems including air source heat pumps, ground source heat pumps and in limited circumstances, biomass boilers.
The BUS was to run for 3 years starting April 2022. The Government set aside a budget of £450 million under this scheme and aims to help existing small domestic buildings transition to low carbon heating systems for heating their homes. The BUS has been extended and is currently scheduled to run until 2028, however only the budget (and grant levels) has been set until March 2026.
Green Home Energy can offer installations of Air Source Heat Pumps (ASHP) and Ground Source Heat Pumps (GSHP) that will qualify for payments under this scheme.
